Percussion and Delicious dinner buffet for more Building-Stones in Jasinga
On a foggy afternoon in October ’05, 45 motor freaks called ‘ de Grensjagers’ and their friends drove in the direction of the Belgian border natural park ‘Gorp en Rovert.’
From 3 pm onwards, the quests slowly entered a beautiful old authentic farmhouse. Around 4 pm, most quests had arrived and the percussion group ‘Caramba Samba’ started with their loud, overwhelming, rhythmic and exciting drumming. The sound of their drums even woke up the still sleeping sun as the rays of the sun spontaneously started to breaking through the clouds.
After this amazing performance, it was up to the quests to try to get their head around playing percussion and the workshop kicked off. Because of the massive amount of interest shown by all the quests in giving it a try themselves, in total three workshops were given by the end of the day!
The party wouldn’t be complete without delicious food and drinks. Everybody could enjoy the taste of Indonesia served in a buffet style. Spicy chicken, chopchoi, babi goreng, nasi kunung, sate ajam, curry rendang …it was a real culinary party! While enjoying the meal, people could have a look at the ongoing powerpoint presentation showing pictures of Sekolah 4, the goal of this fundraising activity. There was an information booth and some games to play. The day went incredibly fast…and after the diner and a cup coffee, it was time to go home.
We all look back on a very nice day and everybody had a magnificent time. It was a great activity and we raised around €700,00 for the renovation of Sekolah 4. We are very happy with this result and would like to thank all the participants!
