Don Sarto donates generously to Jasinga
Primary school Don Sarto from Tilburg has donated 50% of their 50th anniversary party in June 2006 to the Yayasan Jasinga Foundation.
The board and team of the school were really impressed by the presentation of the projects and goals of our Foundation. They recognised the need for support in Jasinga and were happy to see the direct, clear and honest way of working by the Foundation. Our volunteer Bep van Mierlo has given a presentation to all the schoolchildren. They were very impressed by the lack of electricity, running water, toilets and facilities of the school in Jasinga. Some children even spontaneously donated their toys to the fleemarket or put their pocket money in the donationbox.
We were present at the two celebration nights, the 23th and 24th of June. We had a very nice looking stand with heaps of information about the project in Indonesia. There was a lot of interest.
Parents, children and people from the neighborhood donated generously. The money raised was a bit more than a 1000 euros in total of which the Foundation received 553.85 for the school children in Jasinga. For more information and pictures about the anniversary of Don Sarto, go to www.donsarto.nl.
