Adjustment building plans for Sekolah Dasar 04
Plans are made to be changed…Due to the fabulous news about the land given behind the school by Mr. Tatang, we sat around the table with school director Wugu, projectmanager Duisters and builder Hanafi to adjust the existing plan. We need two safety walls/ramparts. One rampart with a fence between the school and the public road. And another wall behind the school to prevent mud slides. The school has been built on a hill. Heavy rain can cause mud slides which can be very dangerous.
The second school building will not be renovated but will be demolished. We will build a complete new building with class rooms on the new land. This means both buildings will then be in one straight line which is a lot better. In this way we can build a playground and build a second toilet block. That brings the total number of toilets to 8. No extra luxury for 172 kids and 8 adults we would say.
The playground will be partly hardened to make it
suitable for sport activities.
All these adjustments do have BIG financial consequences.
The original budget for the second phase of the renovation
was 11.000 euro. The new budget will be almost double this amount. That
means we have to work the hardest we can to make this happen.
We are currently planning all our fundraising activities for next year. At this very moment, the board and all volunteers are working away behind the doors. Our recent visit showed again how much our work is needed, so we will absolutely Go For It!
