Wonderful proceeds Tijl Uilenspiegel
It was Wednesday 9 April 2008 when the main hall of the Tijl Uilenspiegel primary school filled itself with students. All classes came together to hear how much money they had raised with their sponsorwalk for the two projects. Lions Club Deurne was the initiator of this project. President Han van Hagen, (ex-student of the school) and Mr Frans Geerts represented the Lions club at the school. School director Leon Boom told the children about the school and the children in Jasinga. The students in Jasinga don’t have a many things as the students of Tijl Uilenspiegel. The money raised fror the school in Jasinga will be spent on books for the school. The children in Jasinga are incredibly happy with the books. Miss Marja van Hasselt praised the children for the money raised. The smaller children had even raised more money than the higher classes. Rosa and Lieke had raised most money of all the children and were given the honour of handing over the cheque to the Foundations. A big applaus and thank you for all the children of the school!!
