Proceeds ‘Braderie Vincentius Association’ exceeds expectations
The Vincentius Foundation in Tilburg supports people in their own city who need help. This could mean financial support, cloth or other products and emotional support. Next to this, Vincentius also supports charities in developing countries. This year they selected the Yayasan Jasinga Foundation and the Nimba Foundation. We have been introduced to Vincentius by a good friend and one of our volunteers Bep van Mierlo. More than 30 volunteers of the Vincentius shop organise this annual event. They collect second hand goods and prepare everything for the fancy fair to make it happen. Highlight for the volunteers is selling the goods for two days at the market with passion and fun. It was pretty cold during the weekend so they had to keep themselves warm by jumping up and down. But nobody let down. The proceeds exceeded the expectations. Especially because the Vincentia Foundation doubled the proceeds of the Fancy Fair so both charity organisations received € 4.380. We were absolutely astonished! But we can use the money well: we need books for the library, a future plan for skills development for the teachers in Jasinga and so on.
