Change Board of Members Stichting Yayasan Jasinga in July 2007
From July onwards two new members have joined the board of directors of the Foundation, Dick Martin from Oisterwijk and Els Geerts. They form the board of members together with Els Kepers, the secretary. Dick has replaced Edith as our accountant and Els has taken Fieke’s position as Chair of the Foundation after 3.5 years. The reasons for joining/leaving the board of members were different for everyone. Edith Davies wanted to hand over her duties after 3,5 years but would like to be involved and helping out with the Foundation’s activiteit in the role of volunteer. Fieke Geerts has migrated to Australia and has founded a sister organisation with the goals and aims as SYJ; increasing the wellbeing of the children in Jasinga. Dick Martin has retired and likes to contribute his time and skills to a charity like SYJ. Els Geerts has been closely involved from the very beginning, has direct lines with Indonesia and therefore without any question the best person to become Chair of the Foundation.
The three vital positions in the board of directors necessaire to be able to run the Foundation are filled. However, the board of directors would love to have more people onboard in the role of general director to support the current board of directors, to brainstorm, to give advice, to add networks and ofcourse have affililiation with the Foundation’s goals and activities.
People who like to operate independly, who can join meetings, who have some spare time to give and can take responsiblity for their own tasks. Basic computerskills are required. People don’t need the same experience, as long as people are driven and passionate like we are!
We find it a very interesting, challenging and rewarding experience to direct a small, transparant charity organisation.
