Site visit Jasinga
It’s all very exciting. Bep and Leo are going to have a look in Jasinga themselves for the first time! Bep has been raising money as a volunteer for years for the children in Jasinga and Leo has always been supporting the Foundation offering his services whenever needed. Bep has received a ticket to Jasinga from an anonymous sponsor. The sponsor finds it important that the volunteers get the opportunity to visit the project themselves, so they can meet the people and to experience, feel and smell the projects! This increases the level of involvement and affinity with the project.
Els and Arnold will go to Jasinga again this year. They are very curious how the newly built school looks for real! Yes, we have seen many pictures, but seeing it with your own eyes is something different!
A general overview of the agenda is listed below:
- Official opening of the partly renovated and new school buildings
- Reviewing, discussing and agreeing on small and large maintenance of the buildings
- Visits to families of high school students and their schools
- Planning and strategy for a teacher’s skills development program
- Discussion and planning Phase 3: school interior, materials and resources
- Scoping urgency and supportive basis for caring / education of handicapped children
- Visit existing similar projects for handicapped children
It’s an extensive list and they will probably not have time to cover all the items as much as they would like to, but together with the outstanding project management of our project manager Wim Duisters they will achieve a lot for sure! He has already started with the preparations.
We are looking forward to seeing their photo’s and hearing their stories and findings after the summer holiday break!
