Completion 1st Part of the Renovation (April 2006)
In February 2006 we were in the middle of the renovation.
Now, in April 2006, we are pleased to announce that the first building has been completed!
The renovation has been running very smoothly in the hands of our excellent project manager Wim Duisters and builder Hanafi. All problems have been solved in an accurate and skilled manner. The schoolbuilding is solid and looks absolutely stunning!
The schoolteam has chosen the color green for all the timber, the green color of our logo which symbolises hope and trust in the future.
The classrooms have new furniture. This is a donation from Werkgroep ’72 from Jakarta. We are very thankful to Werkgroep ’72 for this fantastic donation.
There are 5 beautiful classrooms, a storage room, a teacher/director room and a brand new toilet building ready to be used. And...from now on, there is running water and electricitiy ! Very normal for us but for the schoolchildren and the teachers a very welcome and useful new facility. The electricity literally takes them out of the dark, and who knows..maybe they can make use of computers and electrical instruments in the future.
The first activity taken place in the new schoolbuilding was the eye-consultation of all school children and the schoolteam.
