Start Phase 2 renovation school in 2007
Our projectmanager Wim Duisters has asked the builder on behalf of the Foundation to start with the preparations for Phase 2 in Dec. 2007 (new schoolbuilding with 3 classrooms, a toilet unit and playground).
They started with the egalisation of the hill where the new schoolbuilding has to be built upon after which they demolished the old building and started building the new school building meanwhile. The work is in steady progress at the moment.
To protect both buildings (and the children inside ofcourse) in situations of heavy rain against mudslides, we have decided to build full length retaining walls and a drainage system for the excess of rainwater.
We furthermore have decided along the way to dig a water dwelling and to get waterpipes and a watertanks. The water supply have proved to be highly insufficient during periods of drought.
